A Bristol Bath Road shed on a dull January day in 1986 boasts at least 5 different loco classes (08, 33, 45, 47 and 56) together with a first generation Class 117 DMU. 47095 in the revised A An HST power car is dragged off Bath Road shed by an 08 shunter, probably bound for St Phillips Marsh, in Jan 1986. The same wt January day in 1986 sees large logo 47512 coming off shed at Bristol. Fist and second generation DMU sets meet at Middlesborough, with a class 101 and a class 143 waiting to form their next trains. A second-generation class 143 DMU set departs Middlesborough for Whitby whilst a class 47 waits for a return special with the VSOE stock. DBSO 9604 stands in the sun at Edinburgh in May 1986. Another A wet day at Plymouth in Aug 1986 finds large logo 47639 running through the station having just come off it's train. A rail blue 86 and two rail blue class 47's await their next duties at Carlisle. A large logo class 47 backs onto it's transpennine service, whilst the station pilot 08 runs back into it's stabling point at Scarborough. A class 86 in original A Preserved Nearly new, at that time, 144003 awaits it's next duty in the Northern Bay platforms at York on a bright snowy day. Another nearly new unit, 150220, is also at York on a beautiful, if rather chilly day. Note the lack of full yellow ends - was this the livery on all the Large logo 47426 is on shed at Gateshead with another unidentified classmate. A rather dark evening shot of a London bound Blue and Grey HST set at Bristol in Jan 1986. An A nearly decent A double header class 26/27 pairing arrives at Edinburgh in May 1986. A class 86 waits for the road south at carlisle whilst the station pilot 08 waits in the centre road and a first generation DMU stands in the bay with a Workington service. A pair of rail blue 37s rumble north through Carlisle. 87012 in the original A large logo class 47 awaits departure from Scarborough with a transpennine service. Sectorisation has really taken hold by the date of this photo as there were Transpennine, Intercity and Blue + Grey coaches in this rake!! 87023 stands at Carlisle. 50019 in the original NSE 37405 takes a freight out of Fort William im May 1986 37405 at Fort William 37412 stands at Fort William with a Glasgow service in May 1986 An Inter-city liveried HST set heads south from Darlington in 1986. An almost immaculate ex-works 50021 Rodney leaves Bristol with an inter-regional service in January 1986. 50021 at Bristol in Jan 1986. An HST set pokes out from the gloom of a wet Bristol in Jan 1986. 50034 Furious arrives at Bristol with a northbound inter-regional service in Jan 1986. 50047 Swiftsure waits at Dawlish under the watchful eye of a young enthusiast in August 1985. A pai of class 142 GWR 150th liveried 50007 Sir Edward Elgar and an unidentified classmate, (but possibly 50005 Collingwood) speed through Totnes light-engine in August 1986. 47636 departs from Edinburgh in May 1986 An unidentified rail-blue class 47/4 stands at Bristol with a southbound inter-regional train on a wet January day in 1986. 50028 Tiger arrives at Bristol with a northbound inter-regional train in Jan 1986. The intensity of the headlights indicates it must have been another great day for photography!! HST power car 43033 is at Bristol in 1986

A An NER loco backs down onto it's train at Grosmont in the mid 1980's A Grosmont bound rain waits at Goathland for the Pickering train to arrive and clear the section.

Rail 80's enters the 1990's!! 37232 in An unidenfied 37 skirts the side of the loch at Plockton in August 1991. A large logo Class 50 (possibly 50046 Ajax - by the relative size of nameplate) awaits departure from Taunton with a Down express in August 1983. Note the still functioning semaphores, done away with the next year and the gentleman on the then unused island platform actually PAINTING a sign - how times have changed!! On a misty Highland morning, a Class 37/4 lifts the early Glasgow-Fort Bill service towrds Rannoch Moor - May 1986. The WSR's Park Royal set enjoys a touch-up at Minehead in 1983. Class 24 D5032 An earlier view of a 37/4 on a Fort Bill-Mallaig service in May 1986 An unidenfied Clas 47 on a Leeds-Cralisle working is viewed from the front seat on a First Generation DMU on a Lancaster-Leeds service sometime in the early 90's. A beautiful day in the Highlands as an unidentified Class 37/4 rumbles across Glenfinnan in May 1986 A very wet day in Lancaster find a Cross-Country DMU departing for leads whilst an 86/2 awaits the road with a northbound express.
